enjoyable visit to show today -- but I still haven't sat through the videos of performances [for later] -- I got stuck in Daniel Malone's 5 rooms full with his 10 year accumulation of all the packaging & wrapping bottles corks egg-cartons posters ripped-off signage vinyl records several dozen books all sorted & stacked or filed -- Merz & more Merz -- Warholian accumulation of detritus more than consumer items -- the rawness of the raw culture --  

good to see one end of a gallery devoted to Jim Allen recent work

many other wonders of et al & Ian Burn & Simon Denny [Wystan Curnow on High Art Boredom + to be fair the 8 pp of notebook quoted in the boredom piece -- not boring at all 

& finish up with an array of Allen Maddox paintings  --  I have to remember giving his work a critical kick-start 1976 -- & wonder did I get it right, was I too enthusiastic -- no, I wasn't -- in retrospect the painting is more thoughtful & more controlled than I then thought it.

& Natasha Conland's wall-cards are full of thoughtful & useful comment -- in the AAG, that makes a nice change.
